I’ve got a really fun idea for you that is absolutely going to add a ton of love and joy to your life.
What do you do with your photos? My guess is that most of them are held hostage somewhere in your cloud, forgotten in the never-ending influx of your incoming images. I love, love, love taking photos and preserving my memories and while I do share them on social media and here on my blog (all of the photography is original/mine unless otherwise stated) I wanted a way to enjoy my creations and my memories. So, I made a promise to myself that I would print and hang the photos from a recent trip to London within a week of getting back. And, yay, I did it. I created a whole collage out of our vacay snaps and it completely changed the room. The energy behind each pick, which I careful selected and thoughtfully combined, serves to infuse our space with the intention I put into the project. I am absolutely in love with our wall of love and joy and want you to experience this as well.
So, this is super easy to do. Start by selecting a theme for your wall of love (joy, fame, inspiration, etc). Next, go through the photos on your phone, your cloud, drive, etc. This part should be really fun by the way. (If it’s not, or if you are overwhelmed, check out this episode of the podcast “Note to Self” for tips on how to clean up and lean down your photos) Select 12-36 or more pics that fit the theme and make you feel really good. Order the prints. I got mine through Costco and it was super cheap. Also, order a pack of frames in a size appropriate for your prints. I got some that look similar to these (which look awesome and cost around $20 for a dozen!)
Once you’ve got your frames and your printed pics, move into your creation space. Light incense, set an intention for your project, say out loud how this wall will make you feel every time you gaze upon it, light a candle dedicated to this intention and allow it to burn out on its own through the process. And get to work. Place the pics inside the frames and then lay them out on the floor, arranging them in the way you want them to be on the wall. Be sure to measure the space on the wall and translate that onto the floor. Once you have the photo collage arranged, measure the space in between each photo and mark the spaces on the wall. Once you’ve measured twice (three times!) you can drill or hammer in your nails or screws all at once and then hang.
The pic of our wall of love and joy is above, and as I said, I am mesmerized each and every time I look at it. I would LOVE to hear about your completed project, please share in the comments below!
